每年端午節，大澳的三個漁業行會（扒艇行、鮮魚行與合心堂）都舉行傳統的宗教性「龍舟遊涌」活動。該活動為國家級非物質文化遺產名錄之項目。
在農曆五月初四日（5月29日），行會成員划龍舟到楊侯廟、新村天后廟、關帝廟及洪聖廟請出四間廟宇的小神像，接返各行會之「龍躉」（臨時活動場所）上安放。
在農曆五月初五日（5月30日），進行遊涌（又稱「遊神」），由三艘龍舟拖著載有神像的小艇巡遊各水道，並沿途為水中的幽魂「化衣」（焚燒金銀衣紙），保佑水陸居民平安，兩岸的棚屋居民也同時向巡遊的龍舟焚香拜祭。下午，各行會把神像送返各廟宇。除了宗教性的龍舟遊涌活動外，端午節當天亦有龍舟競渡。

Hang Hau Community organizes Cantonese Opera to celebrate Tin Hau Festival in April or May annually. Hakka Unicorns dance along the Tin Hau’s deity image to parade in Hang Hau area to pacify the community.
